Defect per million DPMO

Do you know how to find DPMO in Excel?

DPMO is defined as Defects per million opportunities which is the average number of defects per unit observed during an average production run divided by the number of opportunities to make a defect on the product under study during that run normalized to one million.

You'd need to supply more information and know these other factors.

I have measurements, and I can assume they are distributed with Normal distribution.
And I also have the upper and lower specifications.
The rest is mathematics... Witch I would prefer Excel to do for me...:-)

Defects are counted, and opportunities depend on the manufacturing process, both of which only you could provide.

Excel can divide the one by the other and multiply by a million ...

Minitab can do it, I am sure Excel can too...

DPMO = 1000000 * defects / (units * opportunitiesPerUnit)
Excel can do the calculation, you provide the numbers.
