Generate result based on multiple factors

Hello everyone. I've tried to find a solution to a formula that I need, but can not seem to locate what I need.

I need a formula to determine a monitary amount that is in cell and then times that amount and find a result based on the following criteria:

If amount is $1 to $7000, then times the amount by 17%
If amount is $7001 to $8499, then times amount by 19%
If amount is $8500 to $9999, then times amount by 20%
If amount is over $10,000, then times amount by 20.5%

Can one of you 'excel gurus' please help and point me in the right direction?

Here's one way, assuming amount in A1

    =LOOKUP(A1,{0,7001,8500,10000;0.17,0.19,0.2,0.205})*A1
