    Freezing Date via checkbox

    My dilemna is such:

I have created a form in excel which gives a cost/benefit analysis. The end result is is that a final approver will sign off.

I am a VB very basic user. I have 1 dilemma:

I have a date created field (manual text entry) and today date field (hidden today formula) which gives a 'processing time in days' (datedif function) value

    1. I would like to insert a checkbox for the final approver to check once approval has been given. can I link this checked checkbox to the hidden today date formula in order to 'freeze' the date of approval and hence freeze the 'processing days' field.

any help would be much appreciated.

    cheers

Try recording a macro that finds the =TODAY() cell and copies/pastes as values. If it works the way you need it to, you could link the macro to a clipart image for the approver to use.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:
