    conditional format of entire row

I have a workbook with 40 columns being used.

if lets say a row in column AL = "NO"
I want that entire row formatted with lets say BOLD RED Text.

Is this possible? and how is it achieved?

Select the area to which you want to apply the formatting. Let's say it starts on row 3.

Apply conditional formatting with the formula =$AL3="NO"

Thank you for the advise, I tried it and it didn't work than I got to thanking since this is looking fo a value that will not happen all the time and my other 2 conditions do. Why not put your sugestion at condition 1 and move the rest down. Then it worked like a champ.

    Thank you again.
