    Convert State Names to Abbreviations

Is there a formula that will convert a long column of state names to the appropriate 2-letter abbreviation?

Moved to Worksheet Functions forum -- the test forum is not for questions, fgrayson.

You can use a two-column list of state names and abbreviations, and the VLOOKUP function.

I'm not sure how you arrive at State abbreviations, if you simply want the first two letters then use the KEFT Function, otherwise you will need a lookup table and VLOOKUP.
    Hope that helps.
