Percentage Discount formula

Hi,

This may be a very basic question, but I am wasting a lot of time trying to solve it myself, so I have come here for help.

I want two columns side by side, one showing my suppliers list price, and the next one showing that price with 10% discount deducted. How do I this!?

Try this

=A1-(A1*10%)

I'd like to do a similar thing but with a grid of figures. I'd like to create a formula where I have a box for the percentage discount (varies) then a grid of figures and a box where the discounted price would appear - cannot get my head around how to do a formula for this!! HELP!! thank you very much in advance!
