average number of orders per day

Hello and thanks ahead of time for your help. I have very little experience using Excel, but here is my situation. I have a spreadsheet with all of the information for online orders that have taken place on my client's website. Each row among other things, contains the date of the transaction. I want to figure out how many orders they got per day on average. How can I do this?
