    Cross Linking 2 Dropdown Listbox

    Hi all

    Here is the dilemma...

In one cell I have a listbox that shows customer names and in a cell below, I have another listbox that shows the customer ID number.

I have no problem creating range names to use with Data Validation to produce the individual results in each cell.

What I am trying to achieve if possible, is that when you select the customer name; the other listbox also brings up the matching customer ID number.

No problem if this was not a listbox but I also want it to work the other way round, so that if the user selects the customer ID number, it brings up the matching customer name within the other listbox.

I have done some searching on this site, plus Contextures and many others. Whilst they all have examples of dependent dropdown listboxs; none of them appear to cover this type of linking.

Perhaps someone else has come across this requirement before?

    TIA ...spellbound

Perhaps something like this in the worksheet code module, assumin your first column is the username (listbox1) and the id's in the second (listbox2).

    Hi Simon

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work and I have no experience with VBA.

However, I inserted the code into my worksheet and have tried replacing the A1 with the relevent cell references for the 2 listboxes but that did'nt work.

As the supporting data is on a different worksheet and inserted into the listboxes by way of range names, I wondered if this was causing the problem.

I have attached a mini version of my workbook in case that helps to give a clearer picture.

Any chance you could have a look at my example workbook and help me make this work.
