Convert a Date Format to a text format

    Hi All,
This may have a very simple solution, but I've done a search for it and have had no luck. Here's what I would like to accomplish:

    Column A has: =CONCATENATE("$",C2," ",D2)

    1 DATE $/SF
    2 $101 39569 May-08 $101.00 May-08
    3 $184 3-08 Mar-08 $184.00 3-08

    In D2 I have: =B2
    In D3 I have manually input: (space)3-08

As you can see the CONCATENATE puts the "39569" date in A2
But the second line puts the text date as I prefer.

What I would like to do is put in a formula or macro in D2 and down that will change the "Mar-08" to "3-08" so it CONCATENATEs correctly to column A.

Simply: I'm trying to avoid manually inputing the text version "3-08" (or whatever M-Y) into D2 down a hundred or so rows!

I hope this has been understandable. I have attached a small file demonstrating the problem as I tried to outline above. Thanks for any solution that can be provided.

    You need the "Text"Formula

    For example

Hi, thanks for answering...that will return "Today's" date formated like I want. However, I need to have the date that was manually inputted in B2 to be displayed and formatted. It will be different dates based on a "Sale Date" in each row on down, not "Today". Can that be done?

    Hi sglife,
Thanks again. With your info, I played with it till it worked: =text(B2,"m-yy") where B2 is the cell with the date such as: "Jan-08". I appreciate your extremely quick response and assistance.
