    Adjusting Chart Ranges

Is there a way to automatically adjust the range of an axis on a chart to fit given data? I am creating a template to automatically create several charts when text data is imported.

For example, charts have time plotted on the x-axis, but some of the data files might only have 3 hours of data, and others might have 10 days of data. I would like the range of the time axis to start at the initial time value and end at the final time, and adjust accordingly when new data is loaded into the template.

    Thanks for your help.

If you don't want the automatic axis values you will need to set them via code.

If you are refering to the actual data in a series then named ranges could be used.

Thanks for the help. I think I will have to code it. What I really want to do is to have the user be able to enter a range to view. For example, if there is a 1-2 hour period that they want to zoom in on, they can enter the start and end time they want to view. I would like this to be entered in a cell, rather than going into the chart options and modifying that way.

    Again, thank you!

You maybe able to do this with named ranges.
This example allows changing of both start point and number of points

If you need more help post an example data set and chart.
