    How do I make Excel arranging the numbers for me

    Is this even possible to do in Excel?

    On one side I have 10 randomly place numbers. On the other side, I want those randomly placed numbers arranged from highest to lowest. As far as I know, the output of any formula could only be at max, one number. So is there a way to have all ten show up on the other side?

    Your layout / expectations are not clear.

    If you want ten highest values returned in 10 cells look at LARGE function.

    A sample file might be useful in this instance.

    Assumes random values in B13:B22. Formula in first row then copy down

    =LARGE($B$13:$B$22,ROW()-ROW($B$13:$B$22)+1)
    Cheers

    Ok, the large funcution works for the biggest number, but I want it to then arrange the rest of the numbers.

    for example 5, 9, 7, 10
    and then in the next row it will look like 10, 9, 7, 5

    The formula Andy gave doesn't seem to be doing anything after I put values in b13-b22, it doesn't seem to go anywhere, and gives me the #num message.

    I also want to ask, how do I make it arrange text with the number next to it.

    For example, if I wanted to see who ate the most pies in a pie eating contest. Tom 3, Larry 7, Rakishi 29, Sam 2, Brady 9,

    So in another row it will then have Rakishi 29, Brady 9, Larry 3, and Sam 2.

    you say rows then show information in columns.

    maybe you can post an actual workbook with values and expected output
