    Formula to Calculate speed knowing distance, destination time and checkpoint times

    Sorry .. If this is wrong place to post this question then please let me know . . .
    All i know is that any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Ok ...
    On my spreadsheet i have a bunch of variables:

    A1 = Arrival time at Checkpoint 1 - 5:53:08
    A2 = Time to destination from Checkpoint 1 - 1:10:18

    B1 = Arrival time at Checkpoint 2 - 6:00:56
    B2 = Time to destination from Checkpoint - 1:02:30

    C1 = Total distance from Start - 2.83
    C2 = Arrival Time at Destination - =SUM(A1,A2)

    D1 = Speed determined from the other variables
    D1 is SUPPOSED to equal 25.00
    It also is where I am stumped!!
    Not only can I not figure out the math but also how to format the function to get the right answer.

    ps: Arrival Time at Destination is only included in case it would be useful to find the answer!

    You want the total time enroute; adding the times of arraival is meaningless.

    Then speed (in units of distance per hour) is = distance / time * 24
    Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate

    Is it not possible to figure out the speed using the time between checkpoints or between checkpoints versus total time??

    I have.
    -total distance between start and finish.
    -elapsed time from both checkpoints to destination
    -elapsed time from checkpoint to checkpoint
    -the checkpoint and destination arrival times.

    I dont have:
    - distance from checkpoints to either start or destination
    - time from start to finish

    Well .. you could make one in about 20secs from what I wrote above.
    If you start a workbook and put the 6 fields in that i wrote you'll have it right there.
    That is why i gave em with specific field letter/numbers.
    Just put the blue text into the assigned fields and away you go.
    Then it's just to get D1 to come out with an answer of 25 .. lol

    Marked Solved as it cant be done .. lol
    Dont have enough variables to solve the equation!!
