Identify text and build into a phrase

Basically what I need is a formula and a formula within a formula, if that’s possible, that will create the descriptions from the sentences that I created. See the attached spreadsheet. Do I need to set it up differently and how do I set up the formula to do this?Title_Description_Details 10-16.xlsx

    For example,

The title of the product is Diamond Bridal Rings 14K White Gold Princess Solitaire with Side Stones Set (1.01 ct.tw.)

I have written sentences for Diamond, Bridal set, 14k White Gold, Princess, Solitaire. I need to take each of those sentences, plus the title and put them together to write a description. I also would like to have it fill in the gold weight and color and the diamond carat weight and color and clarity where appropriate.

So the description for this one would read:

Diamond Bridal Rings 14K White Gold Princess Solitaire with Side Stones Set (1.01 ct.tw.) Beautiful coordinating engagement ring and wedding band set in 14k white gold is the perfect symbol of love for your special day and forever. A simple, classic, light gold color, 14k white gold is a rare gold valued for its lustrous shine. The brilliant diamonds are a beautiful (XX) color and (XXX) clarity.

The Princess cut is a modern, square or rectangle cut increasing in popularity and known for its brilliance. The Solitaire is the most popular diamond ring setting because of its simplicity and its classic design featuring a single center stone. This ring features a (0.xxx) carat center stone with a total carat weight of 1.01 ct.tw.

Re: VLOOKUP or another formula? How do I do it?

    Hi needhelpfast7

I think you might do better trying to use multple INDEX(MATCH formulas rather than VLOOKUP.

I took a look at your workbook and you have a lot going on in there. However, I put in an example of how you could do the formulas for each specific description on the "Diamond Rings" sheet on row 408 in cells L and M and then the combination of those two cells at V408. The rest f the formulas could then be in adjacent columns to M. All of the formula columns could then be hidden, leaving just column V with the full description.

Re: Identify text and build into a phrase

Thank you! Is there a way I can have it look up the missing value of something within some of the sentences? For example the carat weight of the diamonds. Or do I need to set up the spreadsheet differently to do that?

Yes, you will need to add a column (Carat Weight) to the Diamond Rings sheet and to any other sheet that will refer to the diamonds themselves such as you have on the Diamond Rings sheet. Then you would use the same type of formula as the examples I provided yesterday to pull in a pre-written sentence pertaining to the carat weight.
