    Formulas to calculate hours

Here is the scenerio, I need to figure out what formula to use to calculate the breakdown of 84 Total Hrs down to Reg Hrs, OT Hrs & DT Hrs. Anything over 40 Hrs in a week is OT and any hours worked on Sunday only is considered DT.

Not really enough info there KoolKat,

What does your spreadsheet look like? Here is an example of how I would do it..

Column A has the days, B has the hours

Lets say week starts on Monday and cell A1 has the first day of the week and cell B1 has the hours for that 1st day...

    Monday - 14
    Tuesday - 12
    Wednesday - 12
    Thursday - 12
    Friday - 12
    Saturday - 12
    Sunday - 10

    So 84 total hours.

Cell D1 contains the total hours in the week
Cell D2 contains the Regular Hours formula
Cell D3 contains the OT hours formula
Cell D4 contains the DT hours formula

    Total Hours (Cell D1) Formula: "= Sum(B1:B7)"
    Regular Hours (Cell D2) Formula:"= MIN(40,SUM(B1:B7))"
(will show hours but will not exceed 40)
OT Hours (Cell D3) Formula: "=D1-D2-D4"
DT Hours (Cell D4) Formula: "=B7"

    Hope that helps.
    John
