    Counting Cell Characters

    We are in the middle of a system conversion and I need to make sure our data is not over the length of the maximum character count for certain fields in the new system. Is there any function in Excel that counts the # of characters in a cell or will highlight the cells that contain larger than a certain # of characters? Anxiously awaiting...

    The LEN() function counts characters and can be set in conditional formatting to highlight above a reference.
