function to check names within formula are correct

I have a number of cells , all with same formulas in them, including cell reference in same place.

How can I check the formula to confirm the names are all the same.

    I would use =mid(a5,2,3) = mid(a5,10,3) = mid(a5,18,3)
above would be TRUE if all the same characters
but I can't get mid() to work on a formula.

    Cheers

    Matthew

    Welcome to the forum.

Excel formulas can't see other formulas; they only see the results.

If you copied the formula from one cell to the others, the formulas will be exactly the same, other than (possibly) adjustments to references.

EDIT: If YOU want to see the formulas, do Ctrl+` (single left apostrophe, above the Tab key)

    I was afraid of that.
My solution will have to be to create macro to change to labels,
    Check and change back.

    many thanks
