Question absolute value of sheet to absolute cell sheet?

OK, here is what I am trying to do.

I want to move the absolute value of sheet 2 $D$42 to absolute cell sheet $F$15.

The !sheet2 $d$42 is not working.

    Any ideas?

    Do you mean?

    =ABS('Sheet2'!$D$42)

Probably. I am still tinkering with it. What I want to do is pull a value from a cell on sheet 2 and put into a cell on sheet 1.

By absolute do you mean the "positive" value...or do you just mean the specific cell content as is?

If the latter, go with previous formula, if the former, then just ='Sheet2'!$D$42 should suffice.

That's exactly it! I was missing the "!"... Thank you so much!!!
