    combine vlookup,isblank,isna in one formula

    Dear experts.

I am trying to make a darts league table and i have a problem combining vlookup, isblank and isna in one formula.

What i want to do is to look up of the value of home and away games seperatly. if there is no match for the lookup i get the "N/A" and if there is no value i get "0". If i get 0 the formula will calculate as a lost game.
    Confused???

Might make sense to post a file with your attempted formulae in place so we can see the issue you're experiencing... as is it's not clear where you're looking to place results and what those results should be ie there is no data in your file.

Before we go further... what is the "next step" in this process... I ask because I'm wondering whether or not you really require these tables in the first instance (Home/Away).

Please check my original file. (Sheet Dummy Table Score 1st Division).
The formula that you will find is another solution that i thought without using vlookup. I know its not correct but it was a solution (which i am not happy about!!)

I know I'm being cheeky but could you put a file together with the Div 1 sheets but with the headings in English - it will make it a little easier for me to work through (else I have to go through every formula to see where it links to so as to determine what each column represents)

    Thanks

Re: combine vlookup, isblank, isna in one formula

Apologies for delay - cricket & dinner...

Here is a watered down version of your file... I added 2 columns to the Div 1 8-8 sheet to signify result (home win (1), away win (-1), draw (0), not played (9)) and then used those columns along with team name columns to populate the results table - the function used is COUNTIFS and this is new to XL2007 (ie not backwards compatible) - it is however more efficient than SUMPRODUCT which would be used in earlier versions.

I hope it gives you a way forward.
