    Lookup a total from a range to use as part of a formula

    Hi All

    I'm not sure if the thread title makes sense so I'll expleain what I am trying to do;

    I have a total premium amount to be multiplied by a percentage depending on a client's age. I have cells set up with the percentages for the age ranges (eg 30-35, 36-45, etc), and a cell stating a person's age.

    Is there a formula I can use to make the final total cell = premium * percentage based on age?

    If I haven't explained the problem very well please let me know, but any help is much appreciated!

    If you age range is listed in ascending order with lower bounds in one column and percentages in next column (don't need upper bounds)

    then something like:

    =Premium*Lookup(Age,Table)

    where Premium and Age are inputs (or hard coded) and table is table described above...
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
