Question Counting non blank cells based on several conditions

    Hi,

I need to caculate a number of unique entries in one column based on serveral conditions. I think i need to use arrays, but I am not certain how to do it. I'd appreciate any help on this.

Here is what my table looks like (snapshot):

    COUNTRY OPERATOR STATUS 2011
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Firm Plan 1
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Installed
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Operational
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Possible 2
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Probable 2
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC BP JODCO Total Under Construction
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC JODCO ExxonMobil Operational
Abu Dhabi (UAE) ADNOC JODCO ExxonMobil Possible 1
Abu Dhabi (UAE) BP Total United Pet Dev Co Jap, Operational
Abu Dhabi (UAE) Cosmo Nippon Japanese Co Possible

I am trying to caculate the number of unique operators with projects in 2011 that fall under the cateogry 'Firm Plan', "Possible", "Probable". My long list includes 10 years (2004 to 2014) and 30 countries. So for example for Abu Dhabi, my answer should be 2 ( Adnoc BP Jodco and Adnoc JODCO ExxonMobil will have projects in 2011)

    Thanks for your help,

Have a look at Pivot Tables:

    http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/PivotTab...CreatePiv1.htm

    http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Pivots/pivotstart.htm
Where there is a will there are many ways.
