    CUMIPMT function

    Hi,

I am trying to find the interest payment on a mortgage for each year of up to a 30 year mortgage. When I put the CUMIPMT formula in, I get the #REF error. I get this error even if I put actual values in for all the variables (pv, nper, fv etc.) not just cell references. I even tried the values they give in the example in the Help section and get the same error. I am running Excel 2003. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Re: CUMIPMT function

Thank you Pike. That is a nice spreadsheet. I am trying to put together a spreadsheet as part of a book I have been writing though to figure out how much you can make with a rental property. So I don't know if I can just put John's spreadsheet in there. I have attached the spreadsheet and the tab I am having trouble with is the ROI Estimator tab - both for the principal and interest columns. Any thoughts?
    Thanks again.

    Pike,

Thanks so much. Unfortunately, I still get the #REF error message. Any ideas?

PS. Sorry Pike - I'm new at this site for posting.

    Pike,

Sorry to be so much trouble, but I am wondering whether I could use the spreadsheet you posted in my spreadsheet? Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Windsurfer
