    Formula malfunction

Hi, could someone help me with this.

I have this formula in some cells in a Result workbook - [ =INDEX('\\server-pc\Server\results\Working\2010-2011\[Entry.xlsx]ADMIN'!$A$3:$AM$81,MATCH(B1,'\\server-pc\Server\results\Working\2010-2011\[Entry.xlsx]ADMIN'!$A$3:$A$81,FALSE),22) ] - to get data from workbook Entry.xlsx.

It worked fine initially with the Result workbook update automatically as data in entered into the Entry WB, even when closed. But now doesn't work that way. I have to double click in the cell containing the formula and CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER before it updates.... Also as u can see the formula shows the full path of the entry workbook even when the work book is opened. Please any Ideas on what is wrong?

So if you have manual calculations turned on instead of Automatic.

Go to Formulas Tab , then click Calculation Options and select Automatic, if not already selected.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

It was actually not turned on...I did, but didn't solve it. Normally once the two files are opened it shouldn't display the full file path, but it still does and won't still update until I CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER on the cell

Did you try saving and closing, reopening both files after you changed the setting?

    Re: Formula malfunction

I think the Manual Calc setting was causing it, but finally triggered after closing/reopening, etc...
