I would like to know the formula to continue the serial after every unique values.

Not sure I follow. Would you simply like the numbering to start over every time "self" is entered?
If so, in A1, put 1, then in A2 and copied down, =IF(B2="self",1,IF(B2="","",A1+1)). If this is not what you want, could you please clarify?
