automatically moving data between cells/sheets in excel

    hi
I am totally new to this so hope I get it right.

I am setting up a workbook to contain actions from a project team with several subgroups contained within each spreadsheet within the workbook. I have developed a drop down list with the named subgroups which need to be chosen to mark who has what actions etc. and another drop down list which assigns whether the action is live, ongoing etc. This list then changes the colour of the corresponding cells for the entire row to a different colour, depending on the action chosen.

What I would like to do is automatically move the entire row to the associated spreadsheet (and this is where I'm a bit lost and not sure if it is possible). Eg an action for the admin subgroup would automatically move the row to the spreadsheet for the admin subgroup when admin was chosen???

Can this be done? I would be grateful for any advice please
    Thanks

    Hi

Would you like to upload a copy of your workbook so we can see the data layout.
It may be better not to copy the data to other sheets, but maybe use Advanced Filter to extract the data you want for group.

    hi
not really sure where to upload a document? I have considered just using the filter but thougth there was a way of moving or copying the data like the conditional formatting?

    Hi

Take a look at the attached workbook.

I have removed all of your sheets except the first - which I renamed to All Data.
I created a new one called Group.

When you select a Group in cell C3, an event macro triggers and brings all lines for the selected group onto that sheet.

Re: automatically moving data between cells/sheets in excel

    new query:
how do i fill in the ‘fee’ field automatically depending on the 'level' entered in excel

    eg:
    Apr-11 Sep-11
Name Level 7 Level Session Fee Signature
    adam Level 7
    rachel LTS 2
    Brian LTS 6
    Alfie Duck
    Joe LTS 2

I want the fee to be entered automatically when the level is typed in. Each level pays a different amount.

    any advice??

    Hi

You should have started a new thread for this, as the topic is totally different.

Please start anew thread, with an appropriate title and attcah an example of your workbook and what you are trying to do.
