SUM according to Month and Supplier

    Hello,

I've been using this forum for quite some time as resource for my usual excel questions and it has been really helpful so far.

However, I am facing right now a problem which is unfortunately a little bit more complicated.

I got a huge Excel file containing 25000(!) transactions and I am trying to simply sum up the puchases during one specific month per supplier.

As my company does not have MS Access I have no other option than using Excel.

I attached a file (don't worry it only contains 45 transactions ) and would be more than happy if someone could help me out.

Another Question: Will the formulas still give me the correct results in case I sort the data using autofilter?

    Hi
You can use a Pivot Table, grouping by month / year

OK, I see now, these pivot tables are really nifty.
In case someone else is facing a similiar problem here is how I solved it:

First, obvisiously, create a pivot table. If you don't know how to do it take a look here:
    http://www.techonthenet.com/excel/pivottbls/create.php

After that you might want to group the dates into months or years. Here I found the solution.

Thanks again for the hint for the pivot table. Saved me heaps of time.
