Using vlookup to return values for duplicate entries

    Hello all,

I am trying to use vlookup to return expression values for a subset of genes (please see attached file). For a duplicate entry (Gene1), vlookup returns only the value corresponding to the first instance of this entry. I need to be able to return two different expression values corresponding to two different instances of Gene1.

    Thank you for your help,

    Hi Pete,

Perfect, thank you very much! I'm going to try it tomorrow with a more complex dataset but it looks like it will handle that just fine.

    Best,
