Date in Consolidated sheet does not match date in sheets being consolidated

New to the forum, I have an XL 2010 sheet (attached). The date field in the tabs are consistent and display correctly. My consolidated sheet however shows the dates incorrectly. I have highlighted the data in the sheets and the consolidated sheet where the dates are different. With my basic setup I was hoping to consolidate my data as shown then I would sort that by date for analyzing. Sinse the dates in the consolidated sheet do not match the original data, I'm at a loss . Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lowtech and welcome to the forum.

I'm thinking you did a Consolidate Pivot Table to get your answer. I also think you told the pivot to SUM things. If you had two Call-ID that were the same and it summed them it added date numbers together. Display you Dates so the Year shows and you will see they are 2124. See the attached where I did a consolidate Pivot Table (I think that is what you did) where I used the MIN instead of the SUM. See if that is what you wanted. You could also use the Max, I guess.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

Thank you very much, you have explained why the date changes and you are corrrect in that I am using "sum". Now I understand what is happening, BUT, if I use "min" or "max" as suggested, the date is correct BUT the data for the calls is not a "sum".(which I need) Is there a possible solution to my sheet that allows the data to be "sum" and the date to be correct. (ie: the last date entered for that call.) all showing up on my consolidated sheet.

    Hey Lowtech,

Because you are doing consolidated pivot tables you are NOT low tech. I have an answer that will work but I don't like it much. The answer is to drag the Values down to the Sum area a second time and make one a Sum and the other a Min. Then hide the columns you don't need. See the attached and play with the Pivot table List and what I'm displaying. You are making me think...

    Hope this works for you.

Your solution is workable and I am playing with it. I don't want to mark my issue as solved in case there is further input. As far as Low teck, I can assure you that I am in over my head but I do like to play in deep water.

Update: Your solution is VERY workable and in fact has solved my issue. I played with the table a bit to hide columns not required and I have set it up on my "live" sheets. Thanks for your help, very creative and effective solution.
