If the number you want to convert is in cell A2:
=(A2-INT(A2))*24

@Calandra : shg's formula is what is required - your approach extracts the time from a date and time string then converts it to decimal (correct but not really necessary)

Can you please help? I am getting error message.
The most likely reason is that your initial values are stored as text and not numbers. You can check this in a blank cell
= ISNUMBER(A2) where A2 contains 63:49. If it says false, your values are text
