Track information on different sheets with shadded cell color

How do I track a student name on one sheet and attach that student name to a particular group on another sheet. I want to shade the cell of the student name a particular color and have excel attach that student name to a group with the same color.

For instance, I have a group name "Orange" on sheet "Group Results." On sheet "Student Names" I shade the cell with the student's name orange, and now the information I enter for the "Orange" group on the sheet "Group Results" will display in a cell beside that student's name on the sheet "Student Names".
