    Lookup between 2 sheets

A greyhound rescue group just deleted part of their data on a spreadsheet - all the adopter names! The sheet has the adopter number but the name column is gone. On another sheet they have an older somewhat smaller version including names and adopter number. I want to look up the adopter number on the damaged sheet, match it to the adopter number on the old sheet, pick up the adopter name on that sheet, and enter it into the blank cell next to the adopter number on the damaged sheet. I tried a couple lookup functions but I seem to be entering a bad range or something.

If you could attach the example workbooks with some examples, we could achieve this for you....
    Thanks,

Your workbooks were having some problems, so I pasted both workbooks into a single workbook on 2 different tabs..

The 1st tab contains data from the Adopter Database No Names.xls and 2nd tab contains data from Adopter Database no dupes.xls.

If you see the 1st tab i.e. No names sheet has the names looked up for you. BonnyTycoon.xlsx

Bonny (and a bonnie lass you are!)

Thank you! The rescue was faced with re-entering all 1600 names manually - a tedious process for the volunteers. You saved the day!
