Exclamation Conditional formatting on a Cell with DATA BARS, based on value of another cell

Conditional formatting on manual mode allows me to identify individual situations like color the cells below zero as Red and above zero as Green, for example.

Further, conditional formatting with DATA BARS would let me have a BAR GRAPH within the cell (with numbers) and COLOR SCALES lets me color high values as green and low values as red with interim values in gradients of red and green.
I am in need to use this 'automated' feature, but instead of having the formatting on the same cell, I want it in a different cell.
Is there a way to do this?

    My exact Need:
I have volume of sales by each salesman in a column with quantity of sales in another.
Just for presentation ease purpose, I want the cell adjacent to the Salesman's NAME to have COLOR SCALE for total Sales amount and DATA BAR for the quantity of sales by this Salesman.
I also intend to use the same for other values like ATTENDANCE, Increment/Decrement from last year's Sales Amount/Quantity, etc. to be put on the same cell, so a clear summary is available.

    Would this be possible?

try using "use formula" instead of CF based on the cells own value, however, i dont think you can also get the gradient fill that you want, doing it that way. perhaps referencing the orginal values, and then setting their color to "none" will give you what yo need?

You could have the cells in which you want the data bars equal the cells holding the values. Once you've applied your CF data bars you can choose the "Show bar only" option.
