Pulling Data from a Specific Month

I have a spread sheet with numerous months data. I need to isolate the data from, say, August. I have been playing with it for a while and have the data in various formats so I can use almost any formula but am looking for something that can be changed for each month easily.

I need to know how many times each doctor comes up in a particular month (and then year)..

Have you tried a pivot table? a pt would make it simples

I have but, unless I'm wrong, and I very well could be... :/ ... I would have to change the area of the pivot table every time new data was entered. I need it so that they can continually enter data when I am not around and still have the correct/accurate results displayed

Nope, just format the table as a table, summarise with Pivot table, it just then needs refreshing.

If the table were in a separate sheet, you could even run a simple macro to refresh the table so the data would always be up to date whenever they looked at the table

OK!

I now have it set up in a table (with pivot table in the same worksheet at the moment), but it is still pulling data from September. How do I make sure I only get the data from August?
