Dependent Drop Down Lists, Data Validation, Reset Dependents

    Hey Guys,

First, please forgive me if I am too vague or flat out wrong about the excel lingo.

Attached to this post is an excel document with four data validation lists. Each one of the drop downs (top to bottom) are dependent on the answer of the preceding drop down list. After a user scrolls through all four lists and selects a value, he/she may want to start over and repopulate different values (e.g. DVD, Low, One, p to VHS, Normal, Three, i). However, after a user makes a selection in the fourth list and goes back to the first one to change from "DVD" to "VHS", the remaining three dependencies do not change.

What can I do to make a direct dependency and its corresponding dependencies reset to "Select" if its preceding value changes? In other words, if I change the "Resolution", then the "Format" resets to "Select" but, the preceding lists remain the same. Or if I change the "Media" from "DVD" to "Select" or "VHS" or "Blueray"; the "Quality", "Resolution", and "Format" reset to "Select"?Dependent List Reset.xlsx

    Hi MarvinP,

I was able to transfer the code to the file that mattered and modified it to include additional cells. (This file was a crude example of functionality that I was trying to work out). Anyway, I am very grateful for your help and I look forward to posting again soon! Thank you.

    Hi Marvin,

Could you please paste the code.

I am not able to view any modules in the worksheet attached.

    Cheers!
    Pavan.
