Make a cell blank through conditional formatting?

    Hello,

I am creating a spreadsheet that keeps track of people's license status. There's a column for "Complete", "Pending", "Needs to renew", and an "Expiration Date". So far, I have made it so that when the expiration date comes up or is past, it highlights that date in red.

I am wondering if there's a way to automatically move a mark (X) from, say, the "Complete" (makes cell blank) to the "Needs to renew" (self-inputs X) column through conditional formatting once it is the expiration date. If that's asking too much, just a solution to make the "Complete" cell blank upon expiration is enough.

I am at a roadblock with this. Any help would be much appreciated.

If there's a VBA code for it, that will work, too. At this point, all I want to see is that the "x" under the "Complete" column blanks out when it's past expiration.
