Average of a subset of values within columns of various lengths

hello- I'm new to the forum, and looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm analyzing test data, and have 2 challenges: 1) I need to find an average of a subset of values in a column as the baseline period, and 2) the average of another subset of values within the same column as the test period. The columns are of various lengths (starting on different dates). For the baseline, I need to average the first 5 non-blank cells in the column, and for the test period I need to find the average of the next (up to) 40 cells in the column, following the baseline period. See attached for reference, and how the manual calc would work in B3, B4 and C3, C4.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, or is there another way to arrange the data? I'm also viewing this data set in Tableau, but can't figure it out there either.

    Thank you!

I found a work around, and just removed all the blanks. Probably should have thought of that first.....

Based on your last post it seems that you solved your issue on your own but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.
