Count based on certain criteria

Hi, i've tried the countifs and if function but it doesnt get my exactly what I want.

I have a data set and want to count how many times a certain character appears in it. For example it should count how many times "CD" appears between E1:AM26 if A1:A27 is equal to week 33. sample.xlsxSee attached sample of data to better understand.

Try:

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A27=A30)*(E1:AM27=B30))

where A30 and B30 hold the 33 and CD values to lookup and count.
