    Count Coloured cells (conditional formatting)

Need a way to count the number of colored cells in a column that are filled
with a specific color via conditional formatting.

Wouldn't it be easier to count the cells that answer the condition from your CF disregarding the cosmetics? Perhaps post a small sample sheet?

Re: Count Coloured cells (conditional formatting)

I have attached the current spreadsheet I am working on. I want excel to calculate the number os occasions of absence. However the formula i current have in is just calculating each seperate type of absence. See cell F7 - This is currently returning 5 where as i would like it to be 3.

So therefore thought it may be easier to calculate something to do with colours, but not just counting all red cells in total, counting the red cells that are blocked together (ie thursday & friday being 1 spell of absence) then the next (thursday and friday to be 2nd spell of absence)
