    Question Select cells if adjacent cell meets condition

    Hi All,

    I've a set of tasks assigned to some users. And I have few drop down boxes. When I select a user from a drop down, the tasks associated to that user should display under the user.

    I searched in forums to only find the number of tasks associated with every user. But, I want to list the tasks and not sum. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please find attachment for reference.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nivi

    Re: Select cells if adjacent cell meets condition

    Hi Jeversf,

    Ya, you are great.... That was exactly what I was looking for.... But, now when I try to edit that formula, it shows error "A value used in the formula is of wrong data type". I just pressed F2 and hit enter.... I didn't change the formula really.... Why is this happening???? Only if this is cleared I can use this formula....

    And, it will be great if someone explains this formula for me....
    {=IF(ROWS($B$2:B2)<=COUNTIF($C$2:$C$28,D$6),INDEX($B$2:$B$28,SMALL(IF($C$2:$C$28=D$6,ROW($C$2:$C$28)-ROW($B$2)+1,""),ROWS($B$2:B2))),"N/A")}

    Thanks in advance
    Nivi

    Hi Nivi,

    Sorry about not telling you before, In order to 'execute' the formula you need to press Control + Shift + Enter after you make any changes (i.e. press F2).

    There's a really good tutorial I found on youtube (see below) which will explain how I set it up far better than I possibly could.
