    Question Make table references dynamic?

    Hi,

I have been working on a template for monthly reporting. I got some previous help to update the template, but now I'm running into more problems. I use the template to import data to provide a report on money spent. The money spent is listed by the accounting line and the fund the money is spent from. The template needs to be used for about 22 different groups, and each group has different information, using differing accounting lines as well as different funds. It was suggested that in order to pull the amount of money spent by fund and accounting line, I should turn the imported data into a table. What I would like to happen is to be able to use one template for all of the different groups. My plan was to put all of the accounting lines and funds that could possibly be used by any of the groups into a results tab. Place a formula into each cell to pull as the data is available. If the fund or account number is not used than a zero would results since there was nothing to report. The problem is that as I replace the current data with the new data, the formulas get messed up. Sometimes they shift and pull from the wrong fund, and sometimes a reference will appear. This problem seems to occur with the fund I am referencing (which are the column titles) in my formula. I believe this is happening because when the data is replaced, a fund that was previously used may not be used anymore (i.e. fund 1804 was used in the current data, but not in the new data replacing the old data). Is there anyway to make the functions stop doing this and reference the funds that were input? I have been told by someone that maybe using a dynamic range might help? I have attached a copy of an example where Data 1 and Results 1 represents the information I used to originally create the template, and Data 2 represents the data I copied and pasted special-values over the old data, and Results 2 shows the way the formulas change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!Book1.xlsx
