Capacity Planning

Hi Guys!

I have little issue for you. I am struggling with that for such a long time and at the end you are my only hope.
I want to use excel for capacity planning.

I have few details which need to be consider:
date of project start - i.e 2012-09-12
date of finishing project - i.e 2012-09-18

assembly hours which are in the budget - i.e. 42 hours
production capacity in hours - i.e. 200 hours a week.

working time from Monday to Friday
assembly hours used by 1 fitter during the day is 7 hours.

The thing is how to divide and measure assembly hours proportionaly for that period of weeks (in this example in the W37 - 28h [on the first day - Wednesday 2 fitters working on the project which is 14h + 1 fitter on Thursday+1 fitter on Friday] and W38 - 14h [Monday 7h+Tuesday 7h])

I have over 100 projects with different start and end dates, hours of assembly and capacity. I would like to measure the number of assembly hours and then compare that with capacity hours on the graphic chart.

I will apreciate your help because you are my last chance to resolve that problem.

Best Regards,

Andrzej

Re: Capacity Planning

if you have already made a start towards constructing the workbook, suggest you upload a sample for us to look at. if you have not yet started to construct it, suggest you do, and then upload a sample

the purpose of this forum is to provide help and guidance to members, not to do all the work for you lol
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
