Problem With Exponential Trend Line Equation

I'm having an issue with a trend line equation that excel generated. I have the following set of data and need to enter the equation into a cell and copy it so I can forecast sales four years ahead. The equation is

    7213.5e0.0597x

Now I am typing it in the cell as (=7213.5^(0.0597*cell B2 which is 1) but my number is far too small at 1.69 and should be closer to the value in the Y column.

    X Y

    1 7,843.50
    2 7,804.30
    3 8,586.70
    4 9,491.00
    5 9,586.50

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
