Selecting value from dropdown dependant on another cells value

    Hi

Is it possible for a cell that has a drop down box to have its value changed based on another cells value.

    Example:

Cell A1 is a listbox where users can select steel sizes with its initial (default value) being set dependant on the value in cell B1.

If cell B1 is <1000 then A1 is certain size steel
If cell B1 is between 1000 and 5000 then A1 is a bigger steel

    etc etc

    Thanks in advance

Re: Selecting value from dropdown dependant on another cells value

Hmmm seems i read that page earlier and it isn't quite what i'm after i don't think.

I'm trying to get a cell which is already a pulldown box to change its value itself dependant on how high a number is in another cell. The higher the number the bigger the steel size.

I already the list of steels in a named cell range on a different work sheet and the cell A1 is a list box from data validation.

If i change the value in cell B1 i want the pulldown box to change to a different value BUT STILL be changeable by the user.

(As a slightly more advanced option i'd like the user to be asked whether to overwrite cell A1 if it already has a value).

    Cheers
