Count unique values across 2 columns with multiple criteria

Hi,

I've got a list of addresses, with the house number and road name in separate columns, as well as other criteria such as area number etc.

I need to count the number of homes (i.e. unique values across the 2 columns) , as well as count the homes with additional criteria such as for area 1, for area 1 with water

(See attached sheet)
I assume it would be something using the sumproduct formula, but i could not get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

i am at home now and using 2003, so i cant show you how, but try playing around with sumifS()
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi Skywalker01

SUMIF & SUMIFS should do it.

Re: Count unique values across 2 columns with multiple criteria

Hi,
Thanks for your input

The problem is that this is a list of people (not just houses) so often there are multiple people staying in one house, so the house would occur on this list many times, as in the example above.
