    Post Converting unconventional time formats.

    Hi all,

I have a load of timed data (from a phone bill) in the format: mm[m]:ss[s] (forgive me if I havn't put that correctly). The format sort of changes depending on the duration though, for example:
    13m 23s
    2m 4s
    or
    22m 3s etc.

I feel like this is a deliberate attempt by my provider to make it as difficult as possible to calculate my total usage (as they don't provide a total themselves) to prevent me from questioning my very hefty bill !

Anyway I was wondering if there was a formula that I could use to convert this data into either metric format or indeed just a standard time format (mm:ss).

    Thanks

    JFT

is it always in this format a number followed by m, then a space, then a number followed by s?
if so, this formula should return a standard date. It assumes that calls of more than an hour are e.g. 66m 10s, not 1h 6m 10s

    Hi jollyfarmertom

The formula that NickyC gave was OK. Did you format the cells as mm:ss!
