Does anyone have a formula that can automatically create a numbered sub-heading based on the number above it, like so:
3 <= My number
3.1 <= automated sub-heading...
3.2
3.3
3.4

What is the 3 in cell B6 in your example?
Assuming these subheading are going to be the only thing in the cell. Assuming you've filled in all of your numbers and they range from A2:A50
and you want 5 subheadings after the value in A50
Select A2:A55
F5 (GoTo) Special> Blank Cells
Click in the formula text box
Type =A2+0.1 and hold down the control key + Enter
Copy>Paste Special > Values to make them constant

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires

worked like a charm. I was hoping for a formula as another user will be using the spreadsheet but this works too!
