Formula for Repeating Cell Value in Blank Cells

Hello,

I am trying to write formula for the following need:

Column A

Row 1 Test 1
Row 2
Row 3
Row 4 Test 2
Row 5
Row 6 Test 3

I want to write a formula that will automatically copy the previous cell if the current cell is blank.

The Final Result should be:

Row 1 Test 1
Row 2 Test 1
Row 3 Test 1
Row 4 Test 2
Row 5 Test 2
Row 6 Test 3

I have uploaded an excel sheet with 2 tabs "Problem" and " Desired Solution" for better understnding

Select Column A
F5 (Goto)> Special> Blank cells This will select all the blank cells between Test 1 and Test 3
Do not click on any cell, that will remove the selection. Go to the formula bar (the white text box at top of screen where you'd see the formula or cell contents. Click in that
In the formula bar type =A1
Hold down CNTRL and ENTER
That should fill in all the blanks

Hi,

Here is another way by using a blank column and then copy and paste using Values Only over the top of column A.

Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.

Or you can use this way:

How to mark a thread Solved
Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save
