Please help with a crazy idea of a formula if it is possible?

    Hey guys and gals,

I had a crazy thought for a worksheet where I would like to do something of a possible long ? formula if its even possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll write what Im trying to do then type up a quick visual below it. Hopefully it makes sense.

Basically, what im trying to do is for a milegae calculation for my job. Basically, I will have a column with 25 rows or so, and if the value in any cell of column (C) = S, then I would need a specific cell in that row where the value of the first cell (S) was to be subtracted from another cell in that same row and then an answer in another cell in that same row.(The difference between them) Then on a cell down the bottom of the workbook wherever its available to put, I would like to have all the differences only from those values where the column value was (S) added up and placed in the new cell. What I would eventually like to do is make a workbook of all the months and then at the end of December, in that workbook, add the totals from the differences and place it in a cell somewhere else. I hope its not too confusing. Example below.

Type Miles Billed Actual Miles Difference/Unbilled
    A B C D E F G H I J
    1 S 50 150 100
    2 N/A 200 200
    3 S 50 173 123

12 (Total billed with S only) (Total Actual) (Total all unbilled)

Thank you so much for any help with this! ITs about 25 rows long so this was only a real short example and any of the cells in Column G could be S or something else but I only want it to work with the S value.

    Thanks again!

    jay7227021,

Its not too clear from your example, but I think you're looking for the Sumif() function:

    Hope that helps,
