Formula to Pick Condition-Meeting Cells and Copy Them to Alternate Worksheet

Hello Excel Pro's,

I am having a bit of an issue.
I have a spreadsheet with 3 worksheets: Master List, Pulp, and Coarse.
I have a column in the Master List worksheet where every row is classified as either "Pulp" or "Coarse". What I would like to do is have Excel read that column and to automatically copy all of the rows labeled "Pulp" into the Pulp worksheet, and copy all of the rows labeled "Coarse" into the Coarse worksheet. Does that make sense? Specifically I would like the information contained in columns A-L for each row copied to the corresponding worksheet.
I would be very appreciative if anyone can explain how to accomplish this. (I bet my boss would be thankful too!)

Thanks!

I have 2 suggestions for you.

the 1st is have you tried to use filters?

the 2nd is, to best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Regards

Re: Formula to Pick Condition-Meeting Cells and Copy Them to Alternate Worksheet

FDibbins,

I tried using a filter, but I couldn't make it do what I want with my lack of skills. I made a workbook of the same structure as my real workbook to hopefully make it easier to understand what I am looking for. Please see the attached file. To explain a little more in depth: I am looking for a formula (or maybe conditional formatting of some sort??) that will look at Column K. All of the data in this column will read either "Pulp" or "Coarse". I want every row that has "Pulp" in column K to get copied and pasted into the "Pulp" worksheet, and all of the data in rows with "Coarse" in column K to get copied into the "Coarse" workbook. In my dummy workbook (attached file) both of the "Pulp" and "Coarse" workbooks are blank, I would like it to automatically populate itself so the "Pulp" workbook would have data in 11 rows (corresponding to the 11 entries in "MasterList" Column K labeled Pulp) for all columns A-L, and the "coarse" workbook would have data in 2 rows for columns A-L (corresponding to the 2 entries in "MasterList" labeled coarse).
I am trying to avoid having to copy and paste, I want to enter my data into the "MasterList" workbook and have it automatically populate itself to the other workbooks. I hope this makes sense, and that such a thing is possible. Thank you for any help you can provide!

DummyData Fixed.xlsx

See attached. I highlighted in yellow what I did. You should copy all the formulas in yellow to the bottom of the SS and then you can hide them and it'll just work in the background.

rlabog

Thanks!
Your fixes are working exactly how I was hoping they would. There is only one minor issue... Column J should read BB in both 'Pulp' and 'Coarse', yet in your fixes they read AA as it does in column E. Can you explain how to fix this?

Thanks again for your help!

FDibbins, I appreaciate your help as well, your fixes were almost perfect for my needs.

Thank you!
