    Excel to compare several sheets against main one and return duplicates on new sheet

    hi All

    I'm trying to improve quality checking of my team. each day we run new error report. each team member gets his report daily, and if something did not work, it will be back on a next day's report. The report is quite complicated with lot of data but all I need to compare is column A on each sheet with a column A of the sheet that contains next day's report.

    I want Excel to compare column A from sheet 1, 2 and 3 with a column A on NXT DAY REPORT and if it finds duplicates to return the line into QC sheet. Also if it is possible, to return the sheet name where the duplicate item is located. I can put a user name in A1 cell on each sheet if it was to make it easier to formulate.

    In this simplified template sheet name1,2,3 represents a team member and will contain the report this person has worked on, sheet NXT DAY is where i will paste next day's report as a reference and QC is where i would like the results to be listed.

    A gif will not help us at all. Upload a sample excel file.

    To Attach a File:

    1. Click on Go Advanced
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.
