I am looking for help with a Formula that looks at codes in a workbook and when it finds a match will return the text which describes the code number which is in the cell adjacent to it. I have managed to get it to show YES, NO if it is in the list but in this instance I want it to show the description of the code if on there and not just a YES.
Any help much appreciated.
sounds like a Vlookup or index/match however if you don't upload a book then i cant really help

Ok Thanks, I have provided a sample copy of data with all confidential data removed. I am looking at Data tab -Col L, and need a formula to match this to data in Soc tab column A. If it finds and matches the code (which it should do as I believe all the codes are included in my master version) I would like it to copy the text description in the Soc tab column B into the Data tab Column M. As you can see I have a formula in there but this only tells me if it is in there or not.
New to this so forgive me if it does not attach from my secure network.

You also have SOC codes which are not unique 5223 is present in rows 3 and 18 in tab SOC
